Day One of the badminton team competition proved that 4 nations were above all others. Thailand, China, Korea and Indonesia clinched all the semi-final spots in both the men’s and women’s team events. Malaysia suffers a big blow with no possible team medal any more while India and Japan failed to produce any upsets.

Indonesia’s elder badminton statesman Suharso Suhandinata, aged 94, passed away on Thursday, November 11th, 2010, according to Indonesia’s Antara News Agency.

Founder of the Tangkas Club, Suhandinata was known for unifying the International Badminton Federation (IBF) and the World Badminton Federation (WBF) and he also had a role in making badminton an Olympic sport.  In recognit…
